Tea for Two

Gretchen and I went out to Antioch for tea yesterday
(as a reward for the achievement of a goal).

Before we had tea we went to several antique shops.
We also strolled around town and got some fun pictures.

In one antique store there were books in the back.
Ah.....

The tea place was called Infini- tea. There were so many kinds of tea,
probably at least thirty different kinds.

Gretchen's was called "Scarlet O'Peara".
My tea was called "Tiffany Rose Melody". It is a Green flowering tea.
When I read the description I did not understand what it meant.
It said that it was fun to watch when it was flowering.
Then when they brought it I understood.

The tea itself comes in a ball about the size of a quarter.
Then when it is put into the hot water it expands.

It smells like Moroccan roses, but the flavor is very mild.

Yes I know that the flash is bad, but when we tried it
without the flash it was blurry.

Gretchen saw these flowers and said she had to get my picture here.

This antiques store was closed, but it was neat with the stained glass in the window.

This wall is part of a restaurant, it is right next
to the iron gate in the first picture.

Afterwards we went across the street to a chocolate/fudge place.
The chocolate was delicious!
( as if we needed more sugar after all the tea we had! )

Reception Pictures

The reception was truly a time of celebration with friends, family, food and of course dancing.

The Groom's grandparents.

The candy table was a huge favorite of children and adults alike.

Weddings bring something out in us old married folks~ ;-}

Clara's first wedding. She's 3 weeks old!

Kimberly took my camera and made many of these great pictures!
Thank you Kim.

The Bride and Groom started off the dancing with a waltz.

We all joined in and danced the Virginia Reel . . . . .

some English Country dances . . . . . . .

. . . . .and a variety of others including some that were Scottish.

The eating cake ceremony.
Does anyone know where that got it's start anyway???

Dear friends celebrating with the bride.

The family saying good bye and ~~

~~rejoicing in their new beginning.

The men blew bubbles and the ladies threw flower petals.

The car was tastefully and appropriately decorated.
(are you familiar with the movie Bambi?)

They are off to begin this new chapter in their walks with the Lord.

. . . . For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united firmly (joined inseparably) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh

Adam & Johannah

Hello Blog friends! Yes, we were out of town again this weekend, this time to the wedding of our dear friends Johannah and Adam. Their wedding was a held in a beautiful old-time theatre. We loved the creativity of the idea!

Can you tell by the picture what Nate's job was at the wedding? Take a wild guess. ;-)

The interior of the theatre was breathtaking - all red and gold. Sorry we don't have a picture to do it justice. All the good lighting was on the stage!

The lovely bride Johannah, with her father and two sisters. Johannah made her dress herself, and her maid of honor, Ava, designed the pattern for the bridesmaid dresses.

The guys: Adam (second from the left) and his brother and new brothers-in-law.

If it looks from the picture like the bride and groom are touching the floor, be assured, it's just an optical illusion. They weren't!

Adam's grandfather (who is a pastor) performed the ceremony. It was so sweet to see the joy those three shared!

The ceremony. Isn't Johannah's veil lovely!

A very happy new Mr. and Mrs.!
We were delighted to share in the very great joy of this sweet couple. - GJ

Nate's news

Hi All, Nate signing in to tell you about some of the things that I have done this past week.......

Monday,
August 20, 2007 - S.W.A.T called in to the Sisson Home

Since a few years ago, I have been a part of the S.W.A.T. (Seeping Water Amelioration Team). So when dad woke me up (at 5:30 in the morning) to help him stem the whelming flood, I bravely answered the call. This time there were some new developments. After the last flood, we thought that we had the problem isolated to one area. But this time, we discovered that there was a different area that was leaking.
So I sopped and dad searched (man, where did we put the caulk??) . For a while it was looking grim. The water was coming in a little faster than I could sop it up. But against all odds (you should trying looking for something in our garage) dad found the caulk and we stopped the flood. It also helped that it stopped raining. I had to run out, buy more caulk and do the finishing touches on the fix.

Tuesday, August 21, 2007 - Nate Starts Feeling Blue

Yes it is true, I feel green no more. I am done with lesser things, or belts as the case may be. Last night I moved to blue belt in aikido.

Don't mess with the blue belt.

My favorite side kick.

We are also trained to use anything as a weapon...

...this is the dust mop defense. ;)

Nate, signing out.

So what do you think is more frightening? Nate's look, the dust mop, or the dog hairs that are flying all around because of the mop??? ---- JS =)

Who is Missing Who?

Who's missing in these pictures?

What is wrong with those two pictures??

In case you couldn't figure this puzzle out . . .
. . . we'll give you a few hints.

Last weekend was the first that Gretchen & Kyle have not been together since the middle of April.
I wonder who is missing the other the most ??

Kyle, we hope you and your brothers are having a grand time!
