Wedding Shower

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." Revelation 19: 7

There will be much rejoicing at the marriage supper of the Lamb. I think a mini taste of this rejoicing happens at bridal showers. We get to celebrate a marriage that is soon to take place.

We girls headed to Decatur to celebrate with Johanna Bluedorn & Adam Stanford and to shower them with our love, good wishes, and gifts with which to start their home. We honestly felt so privileged to be a small part of the beginnings of this new family.

What a treat to fellowship with long time friends the West ladies,
Bluedorn ladies and Bernie H. We all caught up with each other while waiting for the bride to be to arrive. This shower was a surprise! Kathy (mother of the groom) arrived just before the bride since Johanna had been visiting the Stanfords prior to coming.

The girls who schemed this up were really good. It worked! Johanna was completely and totally surprised. Even the lavender balloons blowing in the breeze at the end of the driveway didn't tip her off!

( We did think that she is so "in love" that a herd of elephants grazing in the yard would probably have escaped unnoticed! ) =)

Everything was so lovely that we felt totally pampered! We had to leave sooner than we wanted to because of the driving distance, so we don't have pictures of the present opening.

Johanna is so sweet. Her total joy and excitement was infectious. The wedding is at the end of August and Haley, Gretchen and I can hardly wait to continue the celebration and fellowship with this wonderful couple!

A picture is 1000 words; or so they say. In fact, most pictures are only in the 300-500 word category. I congratulate you, Sisson photographer, on your talent at taking the 1184 word picture of Johanna coming into the house. Great shot.

Looks like fun..You can tell that Johanna likes purple!

We were at Applebee's last night and saw your friends, Dolfi and Gil in a booth behind us.. We didn't say "hi", cause we don't know them.. other than seeing them on your blog:)

Jessica,

No kidding! I'm glad you didn't say anything because they may have freaked out. They are staying up your way though.

BTW we are enjoying your blog. I just can't see it well enough to leave a comment. Maybe there is some trick to it?? If so e-mail me, OK?

Congratulations! Happy for your family to hear that you are driving! (spoken like a mom who loves to send kids to the grocery store)

Blessings- Mrs. S
