Trip to Indy

It's been a while since we've been down to Indianapolis. We had a good excuse for a trip this weekend though, when Nate and I were asked to call an English Country Dance for our friend's birthday.

Of course, pre-dance preparations always include a lot of work for Becca, the Master Hairdresser, and her willing assistants.

This time, we pulled off four lovely up-dos in less than two hours! Not bad.

Shore do clean up purdy, don't we? ;-)

The birthday party was great fun, with lots of talking & laughing, a delicious spread of treats and quite a few families in attendance. It was also the first dance in Indianapolis for Matthew (in the red shirt). He did a wonderful job and danced every dance!

Nate (in the blue) gets a break from calling.

Miss Kristi, the Lady of the Hour.
Happy 21st Birthday Kristi!

Dancing "The Spaniard". I love the sweet Daddy/Daughter couple on the left.

Becca called one of the more difficult dances, so Nate and I both had a chance to dance. She did a good job teaching some unusual steps.

Tim and Aunt Karilyn in one of our favorite dances: The Physical Snob. You've got to love English Country Dance names! We always tell people to do this one snobbishly, and you must admit, they are pretty impressive.

The cousins with our "adopted cousin" Kristi. She is such a sweet young lady! We had so much fun calling for this special event.

A wonderful time was had by all, at least, until we realized we had to go home! What a nice group to call for. We'll have to do it again one of these days. - GJ

It's fun to see all the new posts, especially after a long spell of having nuggets face looking at me whenever I checked your blog. But it was convention time so I forgive you :)
