Summer Starts With A Bang . . . . . . . . . .

On Saturday, after doing a bunch of yard work, Ken and Matthew headed to the backyard for their first swim of the season. As they were climbing into the pool a bullet whizzed about 15 feet above their heads and into the oak tree beyond the pool!

Ken hastily ushered all of us into the house and away from windows.

About a half mile away one of our neighbors had been shooting for about a half an hour. Ken had assumed that they were using a shotgun.

So we decided to call the police.
It wasn't long and the shooting stopped completely and the guys headed out to see if they could locate the shooters. They did and found they had primarily been skeet shooting, but also had been firing a rifle "into a berm".
They were very apologetic for the incident.

Shortly after Ken returned, the police arrived to check out the report.

After they talked with us, they went to talk to the neighbors.

Such excitement. Thank the Lord that no one was hurt.

The guys eventually got into the swim of things.

Here's Ken happily floating around on a noodle.

WOW! Scary! I am glad everyone is alright and that the Lord's protection was on your family.
It sure makes for an interesting story, though, doesn't it?
