Pie Auction/Barn Dance

December 2nd we were priviledged to participate in the Pie Auction fundraiser for our dear friend Colleen Moeller.
There were pies, cakes, brownies, cookies, candies, fudge . . . . . . . . . you name it for the auction. {We have already eaten some of our take homes. YUMMY
I want recipes!}

Our dear sweet sister in the Lord, editor of the Alliant magazine, and precious friend.

People brought piles of delicious finger foods and while we ate we were "entertained". Several families sang. There was beautiful piano music, and --ahem ----juggling.

Jason and Nate held a "Juggling 101"class for our observation.
They were hilarious as Jason attempted to teach Nate to juggle.

Gretchen dressed as Tom Sawyer and performed an excerpt from the book. If you've read it, it's the story of Tom painting Aunt Polly's fence.

She was especially happy since Kyle was there and he had never had the opportunity to see her act or tell stories.

Here are the pies for the Best Apple Pie competition. There were little cups with a bite in each for sampling. Of course you voted for your favorite with money.

There were so many gift baskets for the silent auction. Wow were they creative and beautiful. Some folks did their Christmas shopping here for sure.

The auctioning began in earnest after dinner. Jason was one of the auctioneers and helped to make the time so funny. No body minded and it was all in great fun, but I think a few friends of his unexpectedly bought things.

You didn't dare scratch your head or move your hands!

PIE EATING CONTEST

You voted for the one you thought would win ---- with money of course. I never heard who had the most votes??? Anyone know??
Get ready-----

Boy was it close. (I think next time they will have to weigh the pies) The reigning Pie King held on to the top spot. Congratulations Shannon you make us proud! =)

Shock!! Ken won the beautiful painting painted & donated by Melody!

Katie won the fabulous Purple Heart Knife!
All the boys were really mad! ; )

I just can't tell you how wonderful it all was.

Hmm...most votes for the pie eating contest? I'm not sure but it looked like Ava or Shannon had the most, but I could be wrong.

Thanks again for juggling with me Nate, misery loves company! :) I was trying to envision myself juggling up there by myself and shuddered!!!! :)

What a fun time! Yeah, I think Ava might have got the most money--her jar was the fullest, anyway!
Thanks for doing the juggling and dramatization--it added more enjoyment to the evening.

Any time Jason and Nate get three, or even any number of random objects in their hands--things get scary!
