Baptism at Lake Michigan

A couple of weeks ago our fellowship met at Lake Michigan for a Baptism service.

The weather was perfect. Temp in upper 70's, breeze off the lake and sunny!
( It had been predicted for the mid 90's)

Some of the baptism candidates.

Jud was signing and asking Jaimie questions.

Mike was admonishing and blessing his children.

After our service we gathered at the water's edge.

Because the breeze was coming in toward shore, the water was warmer than usual. The wind was blowing the warmer surface water to shore. Usually the water is soooo cold your feet go numb!

We had a wonderful picnic lunch and then spent the afternoon fellowshipping and relaxing.

The constant breeze kept the mosquitoes away, hooray.

The kids played ball, went swimming and generally had a wonderful time together.

Haley didn't bring her swimming suit because she didn't want to get her hair wet.

The water was irresistible! Her hair got wet.

Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant and praise is becoming.

Psalm 147: 1

What a fun day! Reminds me of my own baptism - in October. My water was COLD!

I love all your pictures of various smiling faces. - GJ
