Day at Duzan's

While we were in Oakland, our cousins Becca, Elli and Tim drove over to visit for an afternoon. Here is Kyle's store: Duzan's Furniture and Carpet Center. Kyle kept the name from the previous owner. Please notice the beautiful mannequins in the window. ;-)

We thought you all might like to see a peek inside, so while Kyle and Tim were gone prepping a floor for carpeting, Nate took pictures of us girls.

Nate found a comfy couch.

We did too!

Carpet samples, anyone? He's got about any color or style you could want.

We felt our way through the different carpets looking for the softest ones.
This one was especially nice!

Our new business - rent a mannequin. If only the mannequins wouldn't giggle! We had a lot of fun watching the store. If you find yourself in Oakland, be sure to stop by! - GJ

Welcome William!

I was really hoping that Megan and Justin's baby would be born while I was down in Oakland, and he was! William Noble arrived on July 2nd.

Nate, Kyle and I drove up to see him at one day old! It's hard to tell in any of our pictures, but I think he looks like Justin. Time will tell.

Daddy Justin, Kyle, Me, William and Nate. It's kind of a funny picture, isn't it? We look like the cast in a TV hospital drama or something.

Mommy, Daddy and Baby. Congratulations, you guys! We are so excited for you! - GJ

Nate and Gretchen are back from their week in Oakland.

They had a wonderful time and were busy busy busy. Watch for pictures to come.

Thank you Miller family for your hospitality.
They enjoyed the fun, the fellowship and the fireworks!

Wish we could see pictures of Max in the ring of fire!

Random Pictures

I'm getting bored with no new entries! Since we aren't doing anything really exciting I'll put up some random pictures.

With the Wendtlands at a water park!

Nate paintballing with friends.

Ken, Andrew and Nate in Germany.

Birdie

Visiting our friends the Heddings.
I love the pink poodles.

Sorry Paul, I've been saving this one.
What did they say to you anyway??

Can you find Nate and Matthew in this scene from Passion Play?

Well that was fun!

Coming Soon to Blogs Near You!

Our foreign correspondent will be posting a special report with pictures from beautiful Oakland, IL. Stay tuned for exclusive pictures of local scenery and celebrities. - GJ

Raspberries

Haley's name means hero. That she is.
She braved the mosquitoes to harvest some of our
black raspberries.

Although the bee-keeper's hat did a good job
keeping the bugs away
the main disadvantage is that you cannot eat while you pick. :-)

Two cups doesn't sound like a lot but it's enough to serve on
ice cream.

Yummy and there's still more to come!

Happy July 4th

Greetings from the Sissons!

We don't have much planned today, yard work,
burgers on the grill, a little pool time (if it warms up),
and of course FIREWORKS !

Let true freedom, that which is found in Christ, ring throughout our country. Let it begin with us!

2 Chronicles 7: 14-15 (Amplified Bible)
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.

House Guest . . . .

Gretchen is gone this week visiting Kyle!

But we do have a house guest to keep us company. ;)

Sadie the Flying Sausage
(our nickname for her)

Isn't she cute?!?

Sadie at anchor.
( So she can watch us clean the garage and not get trampled)

Oh, while Gretchen is gone we have been making good use of her bedroom.

Sadie always did like beds better than her crate.
Thanks Gretchen!!

Hmm... I wonder what's for breakfast?

;) Haley
