Sunday was a wonderful day!
We drove up from the ICHE Leadership Conference at Eagle Creek to Oakland, to worship with Kyle. The families in his fellowship have made us feel so welcome each time we are there! We look forward to fellowshipping with them again when they are up for the wedding.
From there we headed over to Kyle and Gretchen's new house for lunch. Kyle's Mom, Aunt, and three sisters had come up and we got to meet them! That was pretty exciting for us. I was nervous but they are so nice. We shouldn't be surprised since Kyle is such a "nice guy" too. (wish we'd taken pictures while we were all together---just wasn't thinking)
Mary Miller and the girls (Do you suppose they get tired of being called "the girls"?) hosted a bridal shower for Gretchen in the afternoon.
They were so kind and generous in showing their support for Kyle and Gretchen.
It's nice to know that she is moving to a place
where there are people who already care about her.
Gretchen felt very humbled to have so many people pour into her life to help her get started.
This was fun. It's a cement leaf to put in your garden either as a bird bath or feeder!
Grace made it. I asked if she took orders!!

This was a wonderfully practical gift that the kids can use right away. Gretchen's needed the things in this basket the last couple of times she's been down.

It's nice to know that Gretchen will be surrounded by such a nice group of ladies.

Grandma Sisson came to the shower on her way up from Florida.
She was able to meet everyone and see Kyle and Gretchen's house.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for making the effort to be there!

I LOVE that Phillips sign!! Where did they get it! Looks like a wonderful shower! What are we are 16 days ;-)

I agree! The Phillips sign is so wonderful we'd all like one! =) The leaf was lovely as were the other things too. It was obviously a lovely shower and fellowship.
I think showers must really just be an excuse to get together and have fun. I don't see any particular wedding preparations going on, just a grand old party. It's like you want to make the wedding last for three weeks rather than just one day.

time to get together and have fun.

Thanks for sharing all the lovely pictures! The decorations and gifts were so beautiful!
Thanks for all the pictures! I especially enjoy Oakland pictures. It helps me visualize the people and places of Gretchen's new life.

That looked like a nice shower! I, too, loved the "Phillips" sign. Can you find out where they got it?? I also loved the " leaf birdbath". I have seen them at craft shows and some painted in beautiful colors.
Talk to you soon!
