Our Valentine's Day

  We had a Valentine's Day Luncheon to honor and show love to our beloved Grandmothers/Moms.  The Barnards, Andersons, and Wendtlands joined us in celebrating.

 Susan made these darling owl favors and filled them with chocolate.

 

 After lunch we had a time of sharing.  Everyone got a joke to tell.  The Grandmothers also got to share memories.  Their stories from the depression, testimonies of God's faithful love, their love of  family and stories of suprising events were wonderful. For some things we laughed until we cried.

What kind of flowers do you never give on Valentine's Day?
  Cauliflowers!

When you think of Valentine's Day what candy do you think of?  The majority thought of conversation hearts.  The other half thought of Chocolates.  Well---- we had all sorts of desserts to satisfy every taste. They were not all out yet.  Drool!

Q:  If your aunt ran off to get married, what would you call her?

A:   Antelope.

 Don't get any ideas that you might beat these ladies.  They look sweet - - - but they are card sharks in disguise.  I was like a lamb to the slaughter.

 The guys were here too.  They wanted nothing to do with the china and crystal etc.--- except for the food.  After all they have their pride!  "smile"

 They entertained Angel while we were sharing stories and jokes..  We heard all sorts of loud and strange noises coming from the basement.  No body plays like boys.  She loves it.

This was our favorite joke:

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising.
I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.
I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour.
But, by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.

 We had a blessed time.  Happy Valentine's Day!
