John Stonestreet from Summit Ministries was our speaker. WOW--WOW
We had plenty of food for snacks . . . . . . . . .
After lunch the guys attended a session with John just for men, and we girls had the opportunity to show off our creativity by making bracelets. I'm glad because my brain needed a chance to soak in all that John had told us. WOW -- WOW.
In the last session the kids each introduced themselves, their family and siblings. Then they had to tell 2 truths and one lie about themselves or their family. Our panel of experts had to determine what was the untruth.
This was our illustrious panel of experts! After all the worldview sessions, Gretchen suggested that they determine their own truth. Amy who dislikes cats felt that every animal fact was highly unlikely. Jason, well Jason just guessed based on what he would or wouldn't do. Hum guess who was right more than any of the other two. You got it, Jason!
Lasagna dinner. YUM
After dinner we had about an hour of different games. Every 20 minutes or so everyone changed to a new group and game. Fun.
After an hour of games the volley ball came out.
Some folks just continued to visit and eat cookies, until we all headed home.
Fudgy Marshmallow Brownies
Brownie layer:
1 c. butter
3 squares (1 oz. each) baking chocolate......I like the semi-sweet, but it tastes good with unsweetened too
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour + 2 Tbs.
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
Melt butter and choc. in a saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat, add sugar and eggs, beat together well. Mix in flour, baking powder and vanilla. Bake in a greased and floured 9 X 13" pan at 350 for 35-40 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
Fudgy marshmallow layer:
4 squares baking chocolate
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 Tbs. vanilla
3 3/4 c. powdered sugar
4 c. mini marshmallows
In saucepan over low heat melt together choc. and butter. Remove from heat. Add eggs, vanilla and powdered sugar beating until smooth. Stir in marshmallows. While topping is still warm spread it over the cooled brownies. Refrigerate/chill several hours or overnight to set topping. Enjoy!
